[Recap of "The Craterite Invasion"]
The episode begins in a blooming forest meadow. A Monster who resembles Grumble Bee, named Waspicable, is collecting flowers and prancing around, Having a gay old time. Unfortunately, a fellow insect-alien called Sting King is searching for him, along with a few Quantrons. Sting yells at Waspy for not being evil enough, and tells him he should have a roar and destructive laser power. Sting King fires at a nearby tree, but when pressed, Waspicable doesn't want to do any damage. Sting pokes Waspy in the tail end with his Armstinger, causing Waspicable to blast at a nearby rock, as a test of his evil power. Sting King tells him to now use that power on the Rangers, and he'll go down in the history books. This persuades him to resort to his nature, and agrees to be bad as he can bee, err, be.
[opening credits]
Elsewhere in the woods, Professor Phenomenus inspects via special binoculars, what he calls an alien pod hanging from a tree. Skull is smart enough to notice for himself it's just a beehive, but Prof tells him once again that's only to the untrained eye. The terrible trio head over to retrieve the hive, trying to lure the aliens from inside. Of course, the bees are angered, and begin swarming out to attack, leaving the three idiots no choice but to run off to hide. Once at a safe distance, Skull tells Phenom he wouldn't know an alien if one came up and said "hello boys!", Waspicable finishing the line. The troublesome threesome take off again as Waspy blasts at them. Meanwhile aboard the Astro Megaship, Alpha detects a disturbance down in the forest. Cassie was the only Ranger around while running diagnostic tests on the systems, so she telemorphs to Earth to check things out. Waspy is still around, scaring the pants off the bumbling alien hunters, literally! Pink Ranger appears just in time to save them, but unfortunately gets an eyeful of the three in boxer shorts. Waspicable tries his best to pull off the stature of being evil, but is truly excited to meet a real live Ranger.
Pink Ranger is already locked in a heated battle with Waspicable, whom is trying to prove his worth as a baddie. He's doing that well, throwing some punches, and giving Cassie a hard time overall. He begins to blast at her, but she holds her own by firing her Satellite Stunner to use in defense. Waspy wasn't expected this much resistance, so he turns up the attacks, striking her down and stealing her weapon! He aims it at the fallen Pink Ranger, but can't go through with hurting her. She tells him he is a monster... with a heart. Trying to deny this truth, he again aims at her with intent to fire, but still can't do it. She tells him that's a good then, when suddenly, The other Rangers finally show up and get to kicking him around. They all aim their Astro blasters on him, when Cassie steps in. This just confuses the monster as to why his enemy would save him like that, so he teleports away leaving Cass thinking she hurt his feelings. Waspicable heads over to an eating area and plans to scare everyone there, especially some guy sitting and eating at a table. He daydreams about this (the guy is played by Ed "Lord Zedd" Neil), but when actually going through with it, the guy he's attacking turns out to be an old man. Waspy's overcome with sorrow, tries helping the old guy pick up the food he dropped, but the old fart takes off. Waspicable begins to think he can't be bad at all and maybe he does have a heart. He soon ends up near a birthday party for a little girl named Sherry. Luck would have it, Cassie is also there, helping the girl with her balloons. Waspicable is still debating on what side he's on, when Ecliptor (in his first fullscreen American costume appearance) walks up with a gang of Quantrons. He tells Waspy he can't have a heart, because he's a monster. Clipty asks him why he hasn't attacked Pink Ranger yet, Waspy says he was studying her and planning one, but Ecliptor doesn't believe him and hits the bugboy in the gut with the butt of his Ecliptsword. Waspicable does as the green grid general commands, running over and firing at the partygoers. The Quantrons scramble and chase everyone off from the party. One of them takes Sherry's balloons and let's them go into the sky as the girl cries. Waspy is sadden by this, but Ecliptor is giddy with evil. Cassie puts up a very good fight against the Q-Trons, knocking one of them facefirst into the cake, but is ultimately outnumbered and captured. Ecliptor orders Waspicable to fire upon the unmorphed and helpless Pink Ranger. He doesn't want to, even struggling when he remembers her telling him he has a heart, but gives in to his dark side, powers up and blasts away!
Waspicable fires at Cassie, but purposely misses and his bolts instead blast one of her Quantron captors. Ecliptor is peeved by this, knocking Waspy over and walking over to do the job personally! Just as he is to strike Cassie with his Ecliptsword, Astronema (now sporting a curly black wig) appears and tells him to stop! She's there with Sting King, who wants to be the one to kill Pink Ranger. Just as Sting King aims his armstinger at Cassie and begins firing lasers, Waspicable steps in the line of fire! The shots hit him constantly, but he pushes on toward Stingy until they forcefully meet. Poor Waspy is kicked off of Stingy and is tossed to the ground. Cassie breaks free and rushes to comfort him, giving Astronema an angered look (and she actually looks back slightly remorseful for what she's done). Sting King prepares to finish them both off, when the Rangers come Astro Blasting in. Cassie avenges her now injured savior by quickly Morphing. Astronema, Ecliptor and the Quantrons teleport out of there, but Sting King gets orders to stay behind and destroy the city by heading into space to blow up Angel Grove from on high! Pink Ranger has Waspicable go someplace save, before calling down the group's Galaxy Gliders', the Rangers hop on and chase Sting King into space! Stingy is firing electrical blasts down to the city, blowing up several buildings. The Rangers glide to his direction, but he's cloaked himself, so they're blind to his attacks. Carlos tells Cassie to use her Lightstar Helmet mode with her Satellite Stunner to pinpoint him and draw him out. Each of the Rangers use their Megaweapons attached to their Astro Blasters, firing at once, knocking Sting King out of orbit and back down to Earth! Once again on terra firmae, he spawns millions of tiny cyberdrone bees at our heroes. Carlos fires his Astro Blaster amid the swarm, striking Stingy's armstinger, quickly destroying all of the drones. Now the Rangers rush Sting King with their Megaweapons, striking one at a time. Black Ranger gives the final blow with his Lunar Lance! Sting King explodes a bit, but Astronema, mad at having two weak wasps in her army, fires the Satellasers and makes him grow in size. Stingy starts blasting all over the city, so the Rangers call for the Astro Megazord. It drops down from the atmosphere, delivering a kick to start things off. Using both the Megazord Saber and Mega Shield in defense, the Megazord stabs Sting King, and throws him down. Once Stingy begins firing eyebeam blasts, the Astro Megazord Blaster returns fire, DE-sting the Sting King into a ball of exploding energy!
On the Dark Fortress, Astronema tells Elgar to never again get another Bee or Wasp monster (she actually says "insect," but as we see later, goes back on this). She then sounds the alarms and the Quantrons scramble about. Ecliptor walks up to her and asks how he may serve his princess. She tells him to prepare the Quantrons, she has a plan for her next encounter with the Power Rangers! Back at the Park, Cassie demorphs and talks to Waspicable. He's alright, just winged a little. He's still confused about what side he's on, and thinks he's a failure. She tells him he has a big heart and that's not something to be ashamed of. He mentions it wouldn't be if he was a human, but he's still just a monster. Waspy then spots Sherry crying over her lost balloons, and cries himself, before shrinking into teleportational bug form and flying off the rescue the birthday balloons. The balloons float back to the now happy little girl, as Waspy takes off for who knows where. The other Rangers demorph and are assured Waspicable will be good, wherever he is.
