SUMMARY:
[Opening Credits: The MMPR Logo; Orange Halloween fonted "Presents"; then the LZMH logo. The "Lord Zedd's March" theme from the MMPR Rock Album (and numerous times on the series) plays amid footage of the moon castle. This segues into a sequence of tons of scenes from this video, edited around in such a useless manner that even Sandy Frank would be proud.]
Lokar's stormy-clouds over a mountain stock footage shot. The moon's cratery view of Earth stock footage shot. The evil moon castle exterior shot, leading around the balcony as lightning strikes it. Inside, the wall-fans spin slowly, and the mist flows freely across the floor. Goldar comes marching in from the side of the balcony, wingless. Above a red spray-painted board with a Z on it overhead and overlooking the room, Baboo & Squatt sit side by side. They look at one another, hold a finger up to their mouths, and give mutual "Shhh!"s, before teleporting away in twirling purple light. Yes, my friends, this is ALL recycled stuff from "The Mutiny, Part 1." Lord Zedd's throne explosively materializes into the central circular platform in the room, turning around to show the big red skinless man himself. Zedd plays with his snake for a moment, then arises, turning the snake into his solver Z-topped Power Staff. Ya know, conjecturally, consider how Zedd's staff was reverted to its snake state in "Changing Of The Zords", which began running on Halloween 95. Perhaps this cheap reuse of footage could be a hamfisted attempt to show us his restoring of his Z-Staff, then reminiscing on old times to cheer himself up over the recent physical loss to Tommy? Too many holes for that, though. But, still, it's a fun way to look at this video, ain't it? Anyway, Lord Zedd grips his Staff as it ceases shimmering red, points his finger outward, and proclaims in his viciously raspy voice, "Goldar! I have considered the strange Earth custom of Halloween. It will appear to be right up my galaxy!" Goldar simply nods, and growls loyally, "YES!" Zedd turns towards the balcony, activates his red-beam ultra-vision, and mentions, "Once a year, they disguise themselves for the purpose, of scaring one another!" Inside his visor-shaped red-tinted scoping out of Angel Grove, is the Youth Center aerial exterior shot. Then, we see inside, as stock footage of costumed teenagers dancing around from "Life's A Masquerade" plays. The red-tinting ends, and the footage takes over. Zedd narrates, "LOOK at them, Goldar. They're celebrating what monsters are REALLY about!" There's a weird effect to the footage of the costume-wearing dancing teens, skipping frames and slowing the rate. Amusingly, a purposely bad song is added in, "Trick or treat, treat or trick. Too much candy makes you sick!" Despite knowing what Halloween is from "Zedd's Monster Mash", it takes seeing the dancing teens to jog Lord Zedd's memory. He turns away from the balcony (where he apparently walked over to between scenes), and remarks, "Ahhh, so THIS is Halloween! FINALLY, a holiday I can SINK my teeth into! They're having a party, Goldar. Does that GIVE you any ideas?" Goldar, who now has wings, keeps on the normal track of the series, by suggesting, "YES! We send our monsters down to infiltrate their party!" Zedd swats his hand at the golden lackey, grousing, "No, you FOOL! We throw our OWN party." Baboo & Squatt approached, excitedly fidgeting. Baboo asks the same thing he asked in ZMM, "Do we get to dress up? I always wanted to be Little Bo Peep!" Lord Zedd passes between them, demanding, "SILENCE, fools!" He heads over to his throne while revealing, "We'll have the world's GREATEST Halloween bash. It will be... magnificent." Squatt, now in Zyu footage (notice the bright background), exclaims, "Why not invite ALL the monsters you created?!" Zedd begins to sit down, replying, "YES. Like the ones I created for the Dark Dimension! They were among my finest."
[Footage from "Zedd's Monster Mash" plays: The goofy Gatekeeper uses his Master Key to open the Shadow World... err, Dark Dimension. Tommy is teleported into the cemetery, where he's confronted by Tombstone Head, Robogoat, and Pumpkin Rapper. The scene is complete from the Gatekeeper stuff to Rapper's "back and bad" rap.]
Lord Zedd narrates as Tommy fights the monsters unmorphed, "You see, Squatt. It's not easy to defeat the monsters of Lord Zedd!" Squatt adds when Tommy does his flip off the tree, "Boy, oh, boy! They were more than he could handle!"
[ZMM continued: After Tombstone Head knocks Tommy off his feet, the scene switches to the Pink & Blue Rangers teleporting into the Dark Dimension. Scene is complete through the battle between White, Pink & Blue Rangers with Primator, Rhinoblaster, Invenusable Flytrap, Snizard. Ending with Tommy telling Snizard (named "Snizzard Lips" on the box), "Don't say I didn't warn you!"]
The flashback ends, with a creepy close-up of Lord Zedd's face (that I think is exclusive to the video), "MINE haven't been the only monsters to daunt the Power Rangers. My wife, Rita, created a terrible monster to battle the Black Ranger!"
[Footage: "Happy Birthday Zack" plays. Rita makes the incantation to power up the evil sword, and create the Knasty Knight. Footage is complete from her spell through the monster's creation.]
Squatt narrates, "I remember, now! He looked MEAN!" Lord Zedd adds, "He was a most WICKED warrior. The PERFECT challenger!"
[HBZ continued: Black Ranger readies his Power Axe and faces Knasty Knight in the quarry. Scene is complete through Rita teleporting away laughing.]
Squatt comments, "It was QUITE a showdown! I thought the Black Ranger was finished!" Zedd grumbles, "YES. But as usual, his pathetic Power Friends came to his aid. That's when Rita made him GROW!"
[HBZ continued: The Rangers flip in to join Zack's side as he lies on the ground, Jason warning the monster to back off. Cuts to Knasty Knight growing suddenly.]
Squatt remarks, "He was as big as a MOUNTAIN!"
[HBZ continued: Jason calls on the Zords, footage cuts to the Megazord's completion, fight begins. Scene pretty much complete through Knasty Knight's destruction.]
Lord Zedd remains on his throne, lamenting, "That little encounter didn't go as well as planned. But that didn't hamper the ability, to maintain monster mayhem!" He gets up and walks over to the balcony, causing Squatt, Baboo, Goldar, and Finster to all bow. Zedd explains, "It was painfully obvious early on, that our monsters had to be INFINITELY more powerful. So, Rita tried something deliciously different. And THAT, as you will remember, resulted in... EYE Guy!"
[Footage from "I, Eye Guy" plays. The eyeballs coming together to make the monster, through his telling Rita "Aye Eye, my queen!" Scene then skips to the five Power Rangers, morphed in a quarry, facing Eye Guy & Baboo. The fight begins, and continues using most all of the Zyuranger footage action, ending after Blue Ranger takes out the main eye and the monster starts bursting.]
Zedd notes during the action, "He was a particularly EVIL creature, because he could see EVERYthing!" Squatt quips, "I could see that!" Lord Zedd, during Eye's bout with the Power Blaster scene, "Unfortunately, it didn't take the Power Rangers long to find Eye Guy's weakness." Squatt, bringing up Eye Guy's quick recovery, "Yeah! But he rolled his eyes back, and pulled himself together!" As the Rangers get knocked down the side of a hill from the monster's attack, "It looked like it was all downhill from there!"
The scene ends, and Lord Zedd turns away from the Earth, lamenting, "No, it hasn't been EASY battling the Power Rangers. Sometimes ONE monster just isn't enough. No matter how strong or scary!" Squatt, again with the Zyu stuff, eagerly states, "Hey, hey! Remember when you sent MORE than one monster?" Zedd explains, "I was JUST getting to that! Once, when the Power Punks were trapped in the Abandoned Theater, it gave me a GREAT opportunity, to unleash a whole SLEW of evil monsters."
[Footage from "The Wedding, Part 2" plays, beginning with the Rangers rushing down the stairs, Tommy noting the monsters are right behind them. It ends with them bumping into Robogoat & Snizard at the end of a corridor.]
Squatt mentions during this scene, "OOO! That place gave me the creeps! But not as much as it scared the Power Rangers! Hehehehehe!"
[TW2 continued: an earlier scene. The monster singing their famous "Ba bop sha be" taunting song while in a circle around the Rangers. Our heroes split up and fight the creatures, Invenusable Flytrap, Soccadillo, Saliguana, Dramole, Robogoat, and Grumble Bee. Footage is pretty much complete through Bee fighting Rocky & Adam, then Flytrap knocking Kimberly back.]
Lord Zedd comments during the many battles, "Hahaha! It was one hideous monster after another! Whenever a Power Ranger turned around, there was another challenge to face."
Zedd, now back sitting on his revolving throne, motions his fingers as he remarks, "OH, how I LOVE the excitement that my monsters bring to the conflict. EACH one presents its own unUSual danger. With this Terror Toad, was a PERfect example of a particularly talented monster!"
[Footage from "Power Ranger Punks" plays. Red, Black & Yellow Rangers using their Blades on Terror Toad. Scene is complete through Trini & Zack getting eaten, with the monster telling Jason there's plenty of room inside for him, and "ribbit". I should point out, that ALL original voices and music are in these clips presented during this video.]
The scene ends, fading to one of the fans in the throneroom. Lord Zedd is now back over at the balcony, though only Goldar is shown hanging around now. The skinless overlord proclaims, "Yesss. The Terror Toad had QUITE an appetite, especially for Power Rangers. Goldar! I'm SURE you remember the Silverhorn! He was a POWERful monster, that filled those teenagers with UTTER fear!" Goldar bows, and grunts affirmatively (note, the monster's name in the original ep was "Silverhorns", plural).
[Footage from "The Power Transfer, Part 2" plays. Silverhorns asks the Rangers what's bugging them, then attacks. Scene is complete through the calling for Rocky's Thunderzord, to which the summoning is skipped. The Red Dragon Thunderzord fights Silverhorns.]
Squatt, showing just how much he remembers, mistakes the Red Dragon for the whole shebang, and narrates, "Silverhorn nearly had the Thunder Megazord down for the count! Ooh-hoo, yeah!" Zedd notes during the monster's eyepop zapping, "If you recall, the Silverhorn had some very special abilities.
[TPT2 continued: Silverhorns zaps the Red Dragon Thunderzord a few more times. Footage is pretty much complete for the fight, the sky getting all dark and such. This leads to RD's spinning of its staff as the monster looks fearful.]
Lord Zedd boasts, "But the creature, with the greatest power, was Serpentera!"
[TPT2 continued: The Rangers look up in shock as they spot the massive dragon-like evil Zord passing across the moon.]
Zedd mentions, "Ahh, Serpentera. My FINEST creation! Goldar, you and I were about to destroy the Deserted Planet, before the Rangers could gain new power from it!"
[Footage from "The Power Transfer, Part 1" plays. Zedd & Goldar in the cockpit of Serpentera. Zedd makes his "infamous" speech, as they head for the Deserted Planet. This segues into red-tinted footage of it powering up and landing on said planet. This leads to lots of footage of it blowing up buildings as those in the cockpit laugh. The Red Dragon Thunderzord shows up, and the footage continues through Tor's aiding of Jason.]
Lord Zedd gloats, "The Zords were NO match for this monster. Serpentera was a celestial vehicle with a COMPLETE arsenal of weaponry. We were MORE than ready to defeat the Power Rangers!"
[TPT1 continued: loads more of Serpentera blowing up moons. The scene includes Zedd blowing up the whole planet, despite Goldar's objections. It ends with the flaming wave ripping through several buildings.]
Zedd, back on his throne, proclaims, "There is no DOUBT, _I_ am the greatest. My creatures are the best the world has ever feared. If this strange Earth custom called Halloween needs monsters, then I shall be hailed as the KING of Halloween! Hahaha! Now, let the Halloween party begin. Summon ALL my monsters! Finster, is everything ready?" It turns out that the throne room is being possessed by the spirit of footage from "The Wedding." Finster, along with Goldar, steps forward (holding a large book underarm), replies, "Yes, your evilness! All the preparations have been made. The guests are assembled, and the monsters are ready." Lord Zedd asks, "Have you arranged special music for this Halloween party?!" Finster confesses in distress, "Oh, dear. I'm afraid I forgot." Zedd jerks around in his seat, screaming, "FORGOT!? You FOOL! Do I have to do EVERYthing myself?! I want music... NOW!" He aims his Z-Staff at Snizard, spewing red lightning forth, striking the monster and pulling a large pipe organ down from out of nowhere against a wall. Snizard ends up sitting before the organ, as Flabber remains locked within, awaiting the day he's released... err, sorry. Wrong series. Zedd remarks, "I HOPE you can play Halloween music on that thing." Snizard, in a voice sounding like Squatt's, retreads the line from TW, "No, but if you hum a few bars I can FAKE it! Hehe-yeah!" He begins playing the piano-keys with his snake-head hands perfectly. Lord Zedd states, "Ahh, MUCH better. Now, bring on the food!" Stock footage of the various evil foods on the section of tables in TW plays. It's not the wedding march, but rather what seems to be a pipe organ extended upbeat remix of LZ's theme. Squatt comments, "Mmmmhehehe! Yummy! What a spread! Boy, am I hungry!" Goldar opens up the dish with the live snakes slithering around (apparently, Snizard must have no qualms about eating his fellow serpents!), and scoops out something gross from within, eating it, then rubbing his golden belly joyfully. Zedd, despite simply bobbing his head to the organ music beat, shouts, "Goldar, all that food is for our guests. I would appreciate it if you stay away from it!" Goldar just turns around calmly. Lord Zedd arises from his throne, suggesting screamingly, "WHY don't you do something more productive?! Gather the guests, summon the monsters! It's time to celebrate Halloween!" Goldar lifts his fists into the air, and lets out a mindless groaning howl. He then starts motioning his arms for the monsters to come forward. Squatt, speaking more in this video than he has in his whole blueberry lifespan, exclaims, "Oh, BOY! We're gonna have a party! C'mon!" Zedd announces, "Welcome, subjects. Welcome! It's good to see your evil faces." The strange thing, is that the line of monsters that come marching in single file, are all monsters shown standing around the room a moment ago: Soccadillo, Saliguana, Grumble Bee, Robogoat, Eyeguy, Invenusable Flytrap, Dramole, and Snizard (despite the pipe organ music still playing by itself!!). Lord Zedd urges, "Come in, come in! We're ready to begin. I'm the greatest MONSTER maker in the universe! Haha! And this is going to be the BEST party there EVER was! Hahehehaha!" Zedd then exclaims, "We've got music, we've got monsters. Now THIS is what _I_ call Halloween! Haha! Hahahaha!" They stand in a circle around he throne, prompting Lord Zedd to remark, "Let's all have a rip-roarin' good time on the dance floor, shall we?!" He notices Eye Guy shaking a tiny spider hanging onto an hourglass-type cage, and comments, "Oh, Eyeguy! How NICE of you to bring your little friend! HaHUHha!" Zedd sits on his throne, and urges, "Now, DON'T be shy. We're celebrating Halloween! So, let's PARTY! Eat, dance, make merry." Fireworks begin to explode in the skies above the palace.
[Footage from "The Wedding, Part 3" plays. It's the wedding reception, with different music! Zedd dances with a black-veiled Rita, you know the drill. EVERY thing remains the same from the footage, including the same exact lines spoken. Ending with Eyeguy getting Bogie on Rita, by telling her "Here's looking at YOU, kid!" She winks, he pops an eye out, it lands in some evil soup. Fireworks burst outside of the moon palace.]
