SUMMARY:

In the middle of nowhere, Darkonda has called for a meeting with his arch rival Ecliptor, with intent of becoming business partners together. Ecliptor, of course, hates Darkonda with a passion and quickly refuses the deal, and the two begin sword fighting (i'm surprised Darky wants to be partners with the guy who spiked his potion just a few shows ago). This doesn't last long, before Darkonda gives up trying to make a new friend, telewarping out. Ecliptor is left with the knowledge that Darky has big plans to destroy the Earth by himself. Soon, after a lingering shot of Earth, we get a glimpse into Darkonda's super secret laboratory. There, he rants about becoming lone ruler of the universe, starting with the use of his twin monsters who go by the one name of Crocotox. One as a blue head, the other red, and both spread dangerous toxins. Darky sends Crocotox-red down to Earth (so I assume the shot of Earth means not where his lab is, but a similar looking planet?), where he floats through space, and then in the oceans near a beach, polluting the waters!

Inside the Delta & Astro Megaships Hanger, Andros wanders the hallways, talking to himself and looking for Ashley. He's trying to find the right way to ask her out, and places to go on the date (from lunar eclipse watching to Halley's comet viewing), but he's never satisfied with anything he comes up with. Finally, Carlos tells him Ashley is in the engine room, where Zhane is getting REAL friendly, teaching her how to use telekinesis to lift some tool. Andros quickly spots this, and just as quickly as his heart is broken by witnessing Zhane & Ashley flirting with each other (or it could be over Zhane's personalized Megaship Uniform, sporting a black design rather than the traditional grey). The sadness is replaced with bitter resentment and envy, sending him stomping away, leaving Yellow & Silver Rangers alone to keep practicing lifting things with their minds. On the bridge, DECA detects a disturbance at the beach (yes, THE beach. Not just ANY beach, but "The" beach). Whatever it is requires the full team's attention, so everyone rushes to telemorph down to said beach and check out what's up. All the civilians who were swimming in the water, rush from the waves, covered with weird blotches on their skin. Crocotox is to blame, but his gloating is cut short by the entire Power Team's appearance. One by one, they get on the hand to hand attack, and one by one they get pretty beaten. Finally, Silver Ranger cuts loose with his powers, jumps onto a cliff and dives down at Crocotox with a power kick. Once the monster is knocked off-guard, Zhane calls for his Super Silverizer! He bends down to fire at Crocotox with blast mode, but the second he attempts firing, he demorphs (none of the Rangers see this, as he is crouched down behind a rock, out of view while firing)! Zhane scurries off, and the rest of the Rangers pull out their Astro Blasters, simultaneously firing at Crocotox-red, causing him to ignite in a quick & fiery death. Once destroyed, everyone on the beach begins to heal from the toxins and their skin is back to being white & pasty. The Rangers run over to find the missing Silver Ranger, who emerges from behind a cliff, demorphed. Stupidly, everyone thinks he did it on purpose (not like anyone on Earth would recognize him)! Ash compliments him on his fighting skills, and she wants him to teach her some of those moves, much to Andros' quiet dismay. No time for jealousy, as suddenly in the skies above explodes an image of Darkonda, with a message for our heroes. He boasts about them wasting time battling his creatures, as he has an army of Crocotox, and soon the Earth will be his!

Onboard the Astro Megaship, the Rangers wind down from the battle and prepare to search for Darkonda before he can make good on his words. Andros approaches Ashley, who is making a cupcake in the synthetron, and tries his best to ask her out, stumbling over his words, saying "I" more times than Alpha on a bad day! Zhane ruins the moment (or helps out) by butting in and asking Ash if she wants to help him scan for Darkonda's lab. She accepts, Andros still standing there tongue tied and getting jealouser by the second. Zhane takes Ashley's cupcake, stuffs it in his mouth and eats the whole thing in one bite (although pieces fall all over the silver slob)! Andros storms off, leaving Ashley hanging for what it is he wanted. She then heads into the bridge with Zhane, and tracking Darkonda's message, they're able to quickly locate the sector in which Darkonda's lab is most likely. He goes to inform Andros of the situation, but Andy is burying himself in work, trying to give his formally cold friend the cold shoulder. Finally all the jealousy and spite bubbles over and Andros asks Zhane what he thinks he's doing with Ash. Zhane assures him they're just friends, and he knows his best friend has thing for her already and wouldn't even think of getting in the way of that. Andros doesn't buy it and stomps off to the bridge in a huff. The rest of the Ranger teens are planning on going down to Vakata 5, where Darkonda's lab has likely been located. Still envious, Andros all but orders Zhane to stay on the ship. He complies, mentioning he doesn't feel so hot, sticking around for Alpha to make him a cup of milk. The Rangers Morph on down to Vakata, via their Galaxy Gliders. Bingo is the term as they glide into Darkonda's lab, but trap is the other word as Crocotox-blue spouts a green force field which ensnares the Rangers off their boards and into a net! Elsewhere, Zhane sits around, remembering when he and Andros vowed to fight as a team forever, as well as when he took the blast for Andros that put him in cryogenic slumber for two years. All this reminiscing reminds him that they're best friends no matter what, so he's going down to help the Rangers out! Zhane teleports down to another beach, and can't seem to find the lab. This detour proves costly, as Ecliptor appears nearby, ready to destroy the legendary Silver Ranger himself! The unmorphed Zhane is no match for mighty green grid warrior, and he gets tossed around like a rag doll, hardly putting up a fight. Zhane delays morphing, trying to conserve whatever powers he may have left!

Here we are on the Earth-lookalike Vakata 5, the Rangers are trapped in a seemingly unbreakable net, as Darkonda and his twin Crocotoxes surround them. Darky rubs the fact he survived a death at the Mega Voyager in their faces, as well as the fact that he has a whole slew of Crocotox eggs gestating and ready to hatch and take over the universe. He then has Crocotox Red & Blue fire mouth blasts at our heroes, who are still netted and essentially sitting ducks! Their only hope is busy at the moment, getting his butt beat by Ecliptor. After seeing a vision of the Rangers in need flash in the sky, Zhane crosses his fingers, punches in a few numbers, and once MEGA appears on his Digimorpher, he immediately begins to Morph into the stunning Silver Ranger! Ready and powered up, he then gets in a heated battle with Ecliptor, in a grassy area near the ocean. Despite his Morphing boost, Ecliptor begins to overpower and stomp Zhane to the ground. Still not done yet, Silver Ranger calls his Silver Glider faster than you can say "To Me My Board!" The modified Galaxy Glider bolts in, tears through Ecliptor and tosses him off Zhane, and over a cliff into the jagged rocked ocean below! That situation at hand and his powers holding, Silver Rangers leaps onto his Galaxy Glider and heads for Darkonda's lab. Thanks to a quick change into the Silver Cycle, he speeds past the barrier spouted out by Crocotox. Not stopping for anything, he drives the cycle through Crocotox-red and blasts through a wall to reach the heart of Darkonda's lab! There, Silver Ranger comes face to helmet with Darkonda, but before Darky can do anything, Zhane lets loose with the Silver Cycle's blasters. Blasts rain throughout the lab, ruining his whole evil operation! Meanwhile, Andros has an idea to use his Battlizer 02 laserblast to free the Rangers of their net prison, and right into battle with Crocotox-blue! The fight is taken outside, and given an unneeded jump boost by the others, Red Ranger springs toward Crocotox with his Battlizer 01 power punch, which doesn't destroy the monster, but causes it to grow! Not far away, Silver Ranger is fighting Crocotox-red by himself, utilizing his Super Silverizer blaster mode. Nearby, the Rangers call forth and form the AstroDelta Megazord, to do battle with the huge Crocotox-blue. As this goes on, Zhane continues bashing Crocotox-red with Silverizer Sabermode. Some Gyro-blasting occurs, and soon the Rangers fire off the power fists, and Crocotox-blue goes bye-bye. Down below, Silver Ranger charges up his Silverizer blaster to full, rushing toward Croxred and firing continuously. The blade is extended and power sliced, but right after the chopping, during his 'victory stance,' he demorphs into normal Zhane just as the monster explodes behind him! Zhane stands alone, powerless and worried.

On the Dark Fortress, Astronema is informed by Ecliptor that the long presumed dead Silver Ranger is indeed alive, as is Darkonda. Elgar butts in and runs his mouth, ticking Astronema off to the point she has Q-Trons carrying him away to play with Scrudly again! Astronema then ponders inviting Darkonda back on her team, but Ecliptor's wisely objects. Meanwhile on the Astro Megaship, Andros apologizes to Zhane for his overreacting bout of jealously and rudeness. Everything's understood, the two friends do their special hand shake thing. As Zhane leaves the bridge, he mentions that the whole time he was with Ashley, she kept asking questions about Andros. Before Andy can dig for more info on this, Ashley enters the room and walks over to him. She begins to ask him on what she thinks will be a boring date for a guy from space, but before she can finish, he asks her to go see Halley's comet with her. She happily says yes, and they both leave the bridge with their arms around each other. Meanwhile, Zhane sneaks down into the engine room, keeping an eye out for anyone watching. He opens the doors and goes in, meeting with Alpha 6 about a secret he's keeping from everyone. Alpha assures him he'll keep the secret, and help him out in anyway he can. The secret is obvious, something is wrong with his Silver Ranger powers!
