CAPSULE SUMMARY:

Quadrafighters engage a few jet pilots in the atmosphere of Earth, signaling their presence to the world officially.

At Angel Grove High, a new study hall/resource center is unveiled. Tanya, still feeling like the new girl in town (since she is) and wants to fit in, ends up falling for a guy named Shawn awful quickly. He's the Captain of the baseball team, and Tanya is helping him study algebra for the big exam. Soon, we find out Shawn has the answers to the exam, and plans to cheat in order to pass it. Tanya protests, he gets mad at her, but soon (at the end of the show) he realizes the errors of his ways and passes the test on his own.

In the Power Chamber, Billy aides Alpha in creating the Zeo Zords, which are being hidden in the mountains outside of Angel Grove for protection of detection. Meanwhile on the Machine Empire Skybase, King Mondo, finding the Rangers a much needed challenge, tries to discover the Zeozords' location to sabotage them before they are fully completed.

At Bulk & Skull's place, Rito & Goldar (dressed up in maid costumes) work endlessly in trying to please their new bosses by cleaning up the Patrol Bike. They do a good enough job, despite Rito's breaking off of a mirror towards the end. Bulk & Skull take the Patrol Bike out for a spin, even activating rocket boosters. The added burst of driving energy takes them smack dab into the Cog Platoon outside of Angel Grove.

In the Power Chamber, Bulk & Skull's distress call for help is heard on the scanners, alerting Billy & Alpha since the Cogs are only five miles from where the Zeozord Fabricating Armory is hidden. Zordon contacts the Rangers, they Morph and intercept the Cogs in a brief battle out in the woods.

On the Machine Empire Skybase, the savage Staroid is prepared by Klank (carrying Orbus, who doesn't speak this episode). It's sent down to Earth along with a full scale fleet of Quadrafighters & Cogs. The Rangers are called into the Power Chamber and informed of the situation, Billy warns that the Zeozords haven't been fully tested yet, but they have to risk it. Kat controls Zeozord 1 & Tanya controls Zeozord 2, the arsenals. Rocky takes command of Zeozord 3, the Sphinx. Adam drives Zeozord 4, Taurus the bull. And Tommy controls Zeozord 5, the Phoenix. The Rangers Morph and charge their Zeozords into battle, using them individually to smash through the armada of Quadrafighters. Soon they encounter the giant Staroid as well, who shoots off a blade from his starshaped metal back. He also turns into a giant metal ball, which rolls through the Zeozords and overpowers them. They're told to use their Zeonizer Crystals to bring together the Zeozords into the mighty Zeo Megazord. They battle, Staroid is sliced into pieces by the Zeo Megazord Saber, but begins to pull himself back together. The Rangers use more power, and the giant ball bearing center of Staroid is cut down before he can reform. King Mondo vows to conquer the human race and destroy the Power Rangers, apparently fun time is over.

_END CREDITS SCENE:_
Bulk & Skull's Patrol bike is towed away after breaking down from the rocket booster overload. Lt. Stone becomes frustrated at his cadets' ineptness, and when Bulk & Skull ask him to think about how boring life would be without him, he ponders it and smiles profusely.
