_CAPSULE SUMMARY:_
A package arrives from Africa, addressed to Tanya (via Kat, since Tanya lives with her, of course). It's from her Yellow Ranger predessor, Aisha Campbell, and contains a key. Ya see, Tanya ended up living with a tribe in Africa when her parents dissapeared on a mission to find the lost Tiki of Auric. They were archeologists, of course. Said key goes to said statue, and includes a map, meaning both may lead to an answer to what happened to the Sloans. Tanya goes to where her parents' plane went down, the place the Tiki is said to reside, the place on the map sent to her... Mysterio Island. Before going, she entrusts the Key of Auric to Jason, who vows to guard it for her. Tanya teleports to the island, and begins searching for her mother & father.
Her parents are indeed alive, and have happened upon the Tiki of Auric in a cave. Coincidentally, Louie Kaboom has tracked down the Sloans, and swipes the Tiki before they can retrieve it. After Jason is ambushed, the key is used by the new ruler of the Machine Empire to unlocked the stone head idol of Auric. This releases a Megazord-sized robotic man, who announces himself as Auric the Conquerer (think Ninjor, but without the usefulness). Louie makes the mistake of ordering this defender of goodness to destroy the planet, and Auric refuses, turning back into the Tiki. Kaboom believes this plan a bust, allowing Prince Sprocket to gain control of the key & Tiki. This time, Sprocket is smart enough to lie to Auric, and make him think he's good, and the Power Rangers are evil. The weakly structured scheme works, the giant Auric goes to Angel Grove to draw out our heroes. Luckily, Pyramidas is finally fished out of Aquitar, and returns to Earth just in time, allowing Jason to pilot it for the first time. It's used against Auric, who is subdued when Zordon is mentioned, a name even he knows as being a good guy like himself. Misunderstanding resolved, the key is swiped out of Sprocket's clutches, and returned to Jason. Auric can now be summoned from his Tiki by the key, whenever he is needed.
And as for Tanya? She finds her parents. They don't recognize her at first, as it's been many years since they last saw her, but a happy reunion occurs nonetheless. They are never seen, nor mentioned again.
As for the rest of episode's storylines, Rita & Zedd use a giant magnet atop their winnebago try to retreive Louie Kaboom. Instead, Det. Stone's car is yanked to the moon, harkening back to when Rito & Goldar caused Bulk & Skull to damage the last one back in "A Golden Homecoming".
