SUMMARY:

[Recap of "The Secret Of The Locket," "Astronema Thinks Twice" & "The Rangers' Leap Of Faith"]
Andros shows his newfound sister, Astronema, around the Megaship. His tour completes with the work bay, where he offers her some disgusting looking meal from the Synthetron. She apologizes, as so much is new to her, as she's spent most her life being the princess of evil. She's also worried the other Rangers still hate her for all the acts of terror she's committed on them over time. Andros tells her not to worry, and DECA informs Karonema they wish to see her on the bridge. She jokingly thinks they're going to vote to throw her into the nearest black hole, and Andros kids & tells her there is one close by. Karone heads to the bridge to face her fate, all four Earth Rangers standing at attention. She comes there ready to accept whatever decision they've made about her, but instead of judgment of past crimes, she receives something she had not expected. The Rangers have voted her an honorary Power Ranger, and hand her a specially made Megaship jumpsuit, with communicator (her trademark color, purple, being prominent in all the designs). She's presently surprised as the Rangers welcome her to their Morphin' family. Meanwhile on the Dark Fortress, the recently rebuilt Ecliptor stumbles onto the scene, still weary from recent battles. He is quickly overtaken and subdued by a group of Quantrons, and restrained onto a weird looking table. He's not too pleased to see the mastermind behind this scheme being Darkonda (or Dr. Darkonda as he looks in this scene). Ecliptor is helpless, as Darkonda begins to use a very painful and very sharp spinning device on him, one which will alter his attitude to evil, for good!
[opening credits]
Astronema tries on her new jumpsuit, and heads to the bridge to show her friends. Shedding the leather outfit of evil, & copious amounts of multicolored wigs, Karone has completely reemerged. She looks just like she did in disguise back on "A Date With Danger," and still adorns her locket around her neck. All the Rangers are happy to see her as a normal looking woman, welcoming her among their ranks. On the Dark Fortress, Darkonda reports to Dark Specter about his modifying of Ecliptor, making sure he'll never forget which side he's on again! Dark Specter then proceeds to tell Darky about his newest revenge plan on the Rangers for stealing Astronema from him, but of course, we get to hear none of it. Meanwhile on Earth, Bulk & Skull sit at a campfire in the middle of the desert, with Professor Phenomenus looking in a telescope. Both of the bumbling duo complain about their unsuccessful routine of looking for aliens every night, never catching any, all Skull caught is a cold. Skull then sneezes on one of Bulk's marshmallows he had been roasting. Prof runs over, telling them to be patient while grabbing the snotty marshmallow and stuffing it in his mouth before returning to the scope. He screams out, Bulk & Skull thinking he's seen something, but it's just the marshmallow burning his senile tongue. After he spits it out, he looks in the telescope again, and spots a big old Asteroid heading for Earth! Bulk & Skull are dumbfounded as to whether that's a good thing or not, and Phenom tells them what could happen if the Asteroid of that size hit Earth. Along with a visual aid of Saban-made footage, he weaves the possible occurrence of the Asteroid smashing into Earth, and it's destroying all life on Earth. They then scream and run for the van, they've got to tell someone quickly! Not that the Astro Megaship doesn't need warning, it's about to collide with it! The whole ship shakes as the large mass of space rock approaches, alarms sounding and Rangers dashing for their stations for evasive maneuvers. They're quickly able to pull the Megaship out of the path of the Asteroid, when Dark Specter then appears on the viewing screen, giving them an ultimatum: return Astronema to him, or the Asteroid will smash into Earth. Andros doesn't want to comply, as he kidnapped her in the first place and she doesn't belong to anyone. Alpha confirms that the Asteroid is indeed on a collision course with the third rock from the sun!

The Asteroid posing a threat greater than they imagined, Andros begins spouting out orders to his teammates to man their stations and get up close to the space rock. The Megaship hovers on near it, and the laser guns fire at full blast, but don't even put a dent in it! They're running out of options, so Andros has Karone stay on the ship, as he and the other Rangers telemorph down to the surface of the Asteroid. They've brought along some dangerous high explosive detonators to try and take out the hunk of space debris. Their plans take a back-seat, when Velocifighters start raining down laserblasts, followed by the appearance of Darkonda and a gang of Quantrons! Andros has Cassie, Carlos & Ashley take care of the V-Fighters with their Mega V Zords, while he and TJ stay behind to plant the detonators. Red Ranger provides cover for Blue, who goes off to plant the last two bombs. Andros spares little effort in keeping the Quantrons at bay, since he's resorting to just his Astro Blaster on them. Black, Yellow and Pink Rangers teleport off to bring back their Mega V's, with which they use to destroy the Velocifighters in an aerial dogfight. Andros & TJ finally beat off the Q-Trons and plant the last explosive. With only seconds to spare, they each board their respective Mega V's and get off the dangerous Asteroid as the detonators detonate! The Rangers think themselves victorious, but a second look confirms the Asteroid is still intact, and still heading for Earth!

The Rangers return to the Astro Megaship, frustrated and with little time left before Earth gets trashed. Karone has the only solution, for her to get aboard the Dark Fortress, and reprogram the Asteroid to miss Earth. Andros is very much against this, not wanting to lose her once again, but given their options, it's the only shot left. Back on Earth, Bulk, Skull & The Professor wait outside NASADA for Commander Norquist to appear. Once he does, they ambush his car, with word of the Earth bound Asteroid! Despite some army resistance, the trio of losers reach him, and he's stunned by the news. Later on the Astro Megaship, the Ranger stand around the bridge, listening to Karone reporting from the Dark Fortress. On it, she sneaks around, in her Astronema attire and short red wig, trying to reach the computer control panel. She finds it, but she herself is found by Ecliptor, her onetime savior. He's not the same old green grid warrior, upgraded & altered extensively about his face and body with circuitry, he's there to not help his princess, but hurt her! The Rangers can only listen to her screams as Ecliptor takes hold of her, and while her signal gets cut off, she's obviously going through the same torturous altering he was. Andros is horrified at losing her again, but his mourning is cut short by a transmission by Commander Norquist, requesting the Rangers help with the Asteroid. Our heroes have one final chance, use all the Megazords at once. Meanwhile on Earth, NASADA holds a press conference to address the world, featuring Comm. Norquist with Bulk, Skull & Prof. Phenomenus on the sidelines. Norquist breaks the news to the press, and news being broadcast to people watching from the Surf Spot, that an Asteroid is heading for Earth. He helps calm everyone, but recounts the horror story of how the dinosaurs will killed millions of years ago, via computer graphics and stock footage. Everyone at the conference quickly starts scurrying around, knowing they don't have long to live! A news team asks Professor Phenom on camera with Bulk & Skull what everyone should do, he replies panic, and that's exactly what everyone does, the three goof-a-teers included! Meanwhile up in space, the Rangers transform the Astro Megazord, and using Saban-made footage, position the Megazord up against the Asteroid, trying to push it back. Next up, Andros call forth the Delta Megazord, which transforms and joins in on the fun of trying to save Earth. Finally, the Mega Voyager is created, with the Rangers inside (Alpha obviously piloting the Astro Mega now). The three Megazords push with all their power, trying to buy the green & blue marble some time! Below, people panic and run the streets, but Bulk, Skull & Professor Phenom have other things to do, like head for a recently left unguarded experimental space craft! Bulk at first is against it, but knowing it's the only way to survive is to get off Earth, all three of the comedy relief sneak aboard. The Asteroid begins to make it's final decent toward Earth, as people watch from the ground. As this occurs, Professor & his two stupid proteges straps themselves in the space craft and blast into space!

Darkonda laughs triumphantly from the Dark Fortress, watching the Asteroid prepare to hit Earth. The rebuilt Ecliptor also views this, but strangely silent to it all. Bulk, Skull & Phenom scream as they liftoff through the sky, trying to do their impression of "Chase Into Space." All three of the Ranger's Megazords push past their power reserves, trying their best to stop the Asteroid. It's not doing any good, as the huge space rock enters the Earth's atmosphere, target: destruction!
