*31st episode aired
*128th total Power Rangers episode
*NOTE: Released on video several weeks prior to its airing on Fox Kids, the video release features at least several extended scenes. The most important of these features Kat! She appears in the Viewing Globe, visiting her family in Australia for Christmas. She isn't evil, and isn't a Pink Ranger, yet knows who the Rangers are, making the scene clash with the show continuity. With some shoehorning, you could make this fit somewhere inside the indetermined amount of time Kim spends practicing for the Pan Global games before retiringing, during "A Different Shade Of Pink, Part III." Though if you don't consider the video scenes in-continuity, which Saban apparently doesn't (given how the video is now out of print, and the "Holiday Special" tape is the broadcast version only) this episode can easily take place according to FK show number or so. |

[Full spoiler summary coming soon!]
It's Christmas eve. The Youth Center is all decorated, everybody's in the holiday spirit. Aisha & Kimberly are working with a group of kids, singing carols & Hanukah songs. One of the girls in the group is down about how her father is too busy working to come see her sing. She eventually asks Santa Bulk and his Reindeer Skull, for her dad to be able to make it, and when said thing comes true, she thanks Bulkie for making her wish come true, thereby making her believe in Christmas again. The bumbling duo, who only took the assignment because Lt. Stone forced them to, are touched.
That's the B-Plot. As for the A-Plot of the episode, Lord Zedd has a scheme to use the holiday cheer to his advantage. He's made up a souped-up Beyblade... err, driedel with the ability to hypnotise children into obeying his evil commands. Zedd & Rita send Rito & Goldar down to the North Pole, with a flock of Tengas, to overtake Santa's workshop and make his Elves mass-produce the hypno- tops as the sole gift for all kids this Christmas. But the Rangers catch wind of this plot, teleport up to the North Pole, and despite the seasonal magic of the location preventing them from morphing, they're able to use snowballs and lots of ingenuity to free Santa, defeat the Tengas, liberate the Elves and send Rito & Goldar packing.
The episode ends with the biggest breaking of the 4th wall to wish the audience a Merry Christmas since William Hartnell way back in "The Feast Of Stephen".
